Copany School Students, 1913

Students at the Copany School in County Donegal, just outside Donegal Town. Marion Cassidy is the monitor standing on the left. The child in front of her is probably her brother Alphonse.  In the front row the first boy on the left is Anthony Cassidy, Marion's future brother-in-law; the second boy over from him is Marion's first cousin, Francis Michael Cassidy.  The first girl in the second row is Agnes Julia Cassidy, Marion's sister who was to die in October of the following year.  The fourth boy in the back row is John James Cassidy, who died of the "Big Flu" in 1918, and was the brother of Andy Cassidy, Marion's future husband. The next boy is John Cassidy, who might be Marion's brother, John B.  There are numerous other possible relations- McMullens, Murphys, Slevins and Quinns.

After Copany School closed in the 1970s, Marion's younger brother, Father Donal, and younger sister, Eileen, purchased the building and converted it into a residence, where Father lived in his retirement in the 1980's.
