Brian Meehan and Sara Cassidy went to Georgia and left Ireland because she was pregnant.
There was no record of Brian Meehan crossing the Atlantic but there was a record of Sara Cassidy.
Shortly after 4th son was born she died. Due to there being no mother and the father had to work, the boys were raised in an orphanage. Upon turning the age of 16 they were sent out to fend for themselves; they headed north. You can imagine four young Irish Catholics in 1900 or 1905 would not have been welcome in the United States.
